How Jet Plasma Works

Jet Plasma utilizes Cold Atmospheric Plasma (CAP), created when energy is applied to a gas, causing it to ionize. This produces a mixture of electrons, ions, and reactive oxygen and nitrogen species (ROS/RNS) that interact with the skin through cellular signaling and other biological processes.

These interactions support fibroblast activity, collagen and elastin production, antimicrobial activity, skin regeneration, and enhanced product absorption—without relying on heat or controlled surface injury.

Jet Plasma with Other Aesthetic Treatments

Jet Plasma may be performed as a standalone treatment or incorporated with other aesthetic treatments. Depending on the treatment and appropriate protocol, Jet Plasma may be used alongside services such as facials, HydraFacial, dermaplaning, microdermabrasion, microneedling or microchanneling, and other aesthetic procedures.

Treatment Series & Results

Jet Plasma treatments may be performed individually or as part of a series, depending on the treatment goals, device, treatment area, and individual client.

 

For many applications, a series of approximately 3–6 treatments, spaced at least 72 hours apart, may be recommended. Some clients may notice visible changes after an initial treatment, while improvements associated with collagen and elastin production can continue to develop over the weeks and months following treatment.

 

Results may last 2–4 years, although longevity varies based on factors such as age, genetics, lifestyle, and sun exposure. Jet Plasma does not stop the natural aging process, and periodic maintenance treatments may help support and extend results over time.

Safety & Treatment Considerations

Jet Plasma is a non-invasive treatment, but proper client consultation and screening are important before treatment. Certain health conditions, medications, implanted devices, recent procedures, and other factors may affect whether or when a client should receive a Jet Plasma treatment.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is Jet Plasma different from laser treatments?
Jet Plasma uses Cold Atmospheric Plasma (CAP) rather than laser light or thermal energy. Unlike many laser treatments that rely on controlled heat or tissue injury, Jet Plasma delivers non-thermal plasma energy without creating controlled surface injury. The technologies work differently and may be selected based on the client’s goals, skin concerns, and treatment plan.

 

Is Jet Plasma the same as Fibroblast Plasma?
No. Jet Plasma and Fibroblast Plasma are different technologies. Jet Plasma is non-invasive and does not create the controlled surface injury or carbon crusting associated with Fibroblast Plasma treatments.

 

Is there downtime after Jet Plasma?
Jet Plasma typically requires minimal downtime because it does not create controlled surface injury or carbon crusting. Temporary redness may occur following treatment and can last up to approximately 12 hours. Practitioners should advise clients not to apply anything to the treated area for the first 12 hours other than products applied by the practitioner immediately following treatment.
